This series of Nightforce Rifle Scopes offer the larger 56 mm objective lens yet are priced the same as their 50mm counterparts. When a rifle scope is equipped with a larger objective lens it can lead to better low light performance, brightness and resolution and that’s exactly what happens on the 5.5-22x56 NXS. Larger objectives also increase the size of the exit pupil of the scope, exit pupil is the size of the beam of light that exits the eyepiece and shines on your eyeball. Larger beams of light allow you to find the light of the scope quicker leading to faster target acquisitions and more comfortable shooting. While the 50mm version of this rifle scope still offers a generous exit pupil shooters can get enhanced performance if they don’t mind a slightly larger rifle scope.
