Nightforce NXS 3-15x56
This series of Nightforce Rifle Scopes offer the larger 56mm objective lens option yet are priced the same as the 50mm scopes. Rifle scopes with larger objective lenses have better resolution and low light performance. They also have larger exit pupils, and rifle scopes with larger exit pupils have distinct advantages. First, they are more comfortable to shoot behind because your eye is less likely to drift in and out of the light of the scope when the beam of light shinning on your eyeball is larger versus smaller. Second, they allow for faster target acquisitions because it's easier for your eye to find the light of the scope when that beam of light is larger versus smaller.
It should be noted that while larger objective lenses are critical for top performance on high magnification rifle scopes they are not critical for more modest magnification scopes including the Nightforce NXS 3.5-15. However, a Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x56 is an amazing instrument and worth the slightly larger optic package in the minds of many shooters.
